Dear Reader,
I am excited to start off the new school year. I will be seeing some of you in person. If you go to a local preschool, I will be there in my mask, with my hands washed, and staying social distant. I’m happy to be able to share stories, songs, rhymes, and more with you! I will also be Zoom-ing with a preschool. All of our school age meetings will be done with prerecorded videos on our YouTube Page. I’m excited to “meet” with everyone, even in unexpected ways. We have soooooooooo many good books that I want to share. Make sure to “tune in.”
 Happy Reading,
 Ms. Robyn
Hello!
Wow! Has it been an interesting year, or what? I’m so excited to start getting back into our routines. Everything will definitely be different than we’re used to, but I’m happy to be able to offer at least some old favorites.
One of our new ventures is our very own Radio Station. Listen in to WMML on 1040 AM for up to date information, programs, and more. WMML can only be listened to in our parking lot, so you can keep your library routine. After listening just swing through curbside or stop in to check out books, pick up Take & Make activities, or say hello. As we learn what we’re doing you’ll have to be patient with us, but we hope to eventually run recorded information on a loop that we interrupt for live programs.
All of our Children’s Programming will include videos that can be watched on your own time, Live readings on WMML, and Take & Make Activities. Please note that each activity has its own unlisted playlist on our YouTube Channel. We’ll be offering Story Times, Family Nights, and Special Events. The details can be found below and on the Children’s Programs Page of our website.
We’re changing our book displays up a bit too. Instead of fun displays throughout the department, we’re now offering Book Bundles. Book Bundles are packs of books all on the same theme that come with activities. Book Bundles can be selected and checked out when you visit the library or ordered through our Curbside Service. Each month we’ll be offering fun themes for you to choose from. September’s themes include Football and Chickens.
Our last bit of excitement is our Time Capsule. This year has been so unique that we are planning to remember it with a Time Capsule. We’ll spend September and October filling it with memories and then hide it away until 2030. Hopefully by then, we’ll be able to look back and smile about the roller coaster of a year that was 2020. We’re asking that patrons of all ages write to tell us what they’ve thought of this year. You can do this by completing the paper form at the library or this online version. We’re also collecting items (smaller than a shoe box) that make you think of 2020.
I hope that however you started the school year, it’s off to a good start. Remember, we can help with digital and print materials if you get stuck. Check out our Digital Resources and our Teacher Resources.
 Stay Healthy and Happy Reading!
 Miss Jami
