We offer rotating book packs to doctors offices, funeral homes, nursing/care facilities, and other locations in Shelby. For more information or to begin receiving items for your location, call 419-347-5576 EXT 1 to speak with Amanda or email [email protected].

School Outreach

We provide outreach to local schools in several ways: classroom visits, library visits, and teacher packs.

Classroom Visits

Ms. Robyn visits preschool and elementary classrooms in the Shelby School District on a predetermined schedule. She brings stories, music, games, learning, and fun.

Additional visits outside of Ms. Robyn’s schedule or for higher age groups can be arranged using this form or by calling 419-347-5576 EXT 5.

Library Visits

We welcome classes at all levels to visit the library. Teachers (and other school administrators) are welcome to call or use this form to set up their visits. We can provide library tours, story times, research help, book tastings, and more. Visits are tailored to the groups needs.

Teacher Packs

Teachers are encouraged to use library materials in their classrooms. To make it easier, we can select, pull, and check out items so they’re ready for pick-up at the front desk or through our curbside service. Use this form or call 419-347-5576 EXT 5 to request items based on title, author, topic, or age group.

Community Events

You never know where you’ll see Marvin or his friends! We often participate in community events and can be seen at parades, farmers’ markets, events, activities, and festivals. Keep an eye on our calendar for specifics on where you can find us next!

Community Partnerships

The Shelby Foundation

MML and The Shelby Foundation work together throughout the year to provide programs to the Shelby Community. Our two most consistent collaborations are the Third Grade Visits in the spring and Cookies and Cocoa with Santa in December.

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum and The Shelby Foundation

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, The Shelby Foundation, and MML partnered to provide traveling children’s play exhibits. These exhibits bring the favorite parts of Little Buckeye and MML out into the community, debuting in the Children’s Department of MML. Rotating exhibits have included a pizza oven, vet’s clinic, dentist’s office, pediatrician’s office, trains and a farm.
