The Mayo Clinic Health System states, “Studies have shown that feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood and immunity. Gratitude can decrease depression, anxiety, difficulties with chronic pain and risk of disease.”  A staff member recently acquired a flyer that listed some ways to  practice gratitude. We thought this would be a great time to share them with you.
1. Start a gratitude journal – each night list 3 things you’re thankful for
2. Make a personal or family gratitude jar – list what you’re thankful for and read them on hard days
3. Say “thank you” more – it strengthens relationships and reminds people they are important
4. Smile – this is proven to strengthen the immune system, makes you more confident and is free
5. Spend time with loved ones  – be thankful to grow closer and remind them you care about them
6. Volunteer – provides a bigger perspective on life, boosts well-being and helping others helps you
Speaking of volunteers, the Friends of the Library are having a Book Sale Nov. 17th & 18th. Book Sales are the Friends’ biggest fundraisers. They accept donations of new or gently used, like new books. Please call 419-347-5576 ext.1, before bringing any donations.
We are thankful for our library, our coworkers, our volunteers, and all of you! We want to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
