Here are some of our favorite resources for teachers. We’ve got quick access to our Book Request Forms, Class Visit Forms, websites, and other fun things.
Need print materials for an upcoming lesson? Want a new pile of books for students to read in the classroom? We can help! Use this form to tell us what topic you’re learning about, how many items you want, and when you need them. We’ll pull the books for you and let you know when they can be picked up.
Class visits are available for all age groups. We welcome classes here at the library and we’re happy to come to your classroom-whatever works best for your class. Visit include, but are not limited to, tours, story times, book talks, and research help. Use this form to tell us what you want from your visit.
The Ohio Digital Library provides eBooks, digital audiobooks, digital magazines & videos to Ohio citizens.
Libby is an APP through Overdrive that enables you to take your Ohio Digital Library Items with you where ever you go. You can access it through the App Store or Google Play.
Provides research resources & how-to information such as magazine articles, genealogy, guides, reference and encyclopedias. The OWL also includes homework resources for kids.
TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of e-books for children. They are a great way to encourage tech-savvy kids to enjoy reading! There are over 250 animated, talking picture books! The site also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, and exciting games and puzzles! You can access materials without having to login as long as you use the link above. If you want to use the TumbleBookLibrary App, you’ll need to login using your library card.
INFOhio, Ohio’s PreK-12 Digital Library, supports remote learning and provides an array of research and instructional resources to all Ohio PreK-12th grade students at no cost to the student, family, or school. See their Educator Tools Page for additional resources and tips/tricks.
The Purdue Online Writing Lab is one of Miss Jami’s favorite resources! Use it for help with in-text citations, works cited pages, and general how-to guides.
ProQuest invites you to explore the new Black Freedom Struggle website, featuring expertly selected open primary source documents. Visitors will find historical newspaper articles, pamphlets, diaries, correspondence and more from specific time periods in U.S. history marked by the opposition African Americans have faced on the road to freedom.

Resources to Enhance Lesson Planning
- Netflix has added documentaries to their YouTube Channel that are available for free.
- Lakeshore Learning is offering free resources including crafts and free printables.
- Want to hear a story read by an astronaut in space? Try out Story Time from Space.
- Learn something new with the Disney Imagineers! These are the people who bring the Disney Magic to life and they’re sharing the science and story telling behind it.
- PBS Learning Media offers videos and activities to enhance learning. They also have a student platform that your students can explore.
- The Smithsonian Institution has several options:
- Smithsonian Open Access, where you can download, share, and reuse millions of the Smithsonian’s images—right now, without asking.
- Because of Her Story, where you can explore women’s history
- The 3-D digitization portal features interactive models
- Smithsonian Science Now offers live-streamed and archived webcasts on a variety of science topics
- The American Democracy Resources Page highlights a diverse array of the Smithsonian’s digital resources that engage audiences around voting, elections, civic engagement, and citizenship

- Miss Jami is currently enjoying listening to the Freedom Writers’ Podcast. There are many ways to tie podcast clips and other Freedom Writer Resources into your lesson plans.

- The NASA website has many resources, videos, information, and is fun to explore.
- ViewSpace includes digital interactives and videos highlighting the latest developments in astronomy and Earth science
- Looking for endless musical fun? Radio Garden offers a Google Earth like view of the planet with green dots representing radio stations from around the world that you can listen to.
- SwitchZoo offers games and animal facts.
- Kids National Geographic is also fun with videos, games, and fun facts.
- Seussville offers fun Dr. Seuss-themed activities.
- Funbrain has activities that can be sorted by topic or age group.
- Highlights Kids offers virtual versions of what you’d expect from a Highlights magazine.
- Of course there’s always PBSKids, as well.
Mental Heath Resources
In need of more information, resources, or help? Check out these resources for adults who work with children/teens:
- How Right Now is a resource to help address feelings of grief, loss, and worry during this time. Their website includes conversation starters and resources for immediate assistance.
- Mental Health America provides a useful toolkit to go along with Mental Health Month
